This extensive magazine discusses a range of aspects of language and multilingualism at school and at home: didactic and neurological elements, the role of parents, school and government, existing practical examples, etc. With this magazine, FORUM wants to direct attention to the multilingual background of a large number of students in primary education. Educational institutions should pay more attention to the interaction beween the development of the mother tongue and Dutch, and the communication of this to the parents, so as to achieve optimal linguistic development of students.
